Tara and I went to Burger Jones for lunch. It is near Lake Calhoun and use to be the old Applebee's on West Lake Street. I am not a big burger eater, but I tend to gravitate towards burger jots. It must be the American in me. As we entered I noticed the patio was packed, but the inside was open and waiting for customers to fill the tables. We sat at a half table, half booth near the kitchen. I glanced around at the decor and felt like I was on vacation in California, at a restaurant on the boardwalk. It felt great. Who wouldn't like taking a mini vacation over their lunch hour? On to the details, the meal was started with a side Caesar salad. The freshly grated parmesan cheese was out of sights. I can still taste it now as I write. For our main course we shared a green chili burger that was topped with a giant onion ring. The burger was exploding with flavor, had the slightest kick and wasn't greasy at all. I haven't said much about the service, it wasn't bad, it was just a little machanical. Take order. Bring salads. Bring burger. Fill water. I mean it was lunch and nothing was to be expected beyond bringing our food and bill speedily. So all in all it was a wonderful lunch and I was refreshed when I returned to work.
In closing
